Production is believed to have started in the 1980s for IDF contracts. A number of different mounting options were developed and used to fit the Falcon to different firearms. The Mk1 appears to have been issued to the IDF and the Mk2 appears to have been sold commercially on the civilian market (Gurwitch 2017).
